Hamas Unveils 'Clean Government' Platform

Did I miss something? Has Hamas hired Dick Morris as their campaign consultant?

Hamas unveiled its campaign platform Monday, saying it would promise voters clean government and reforms, and planned to refrain from staging military-style rallies with gunmen and weapons.

Here will be a true test of their fortitude. What kind of rally is it if you can't bring weapons. They may be worried that the excitement might cause their supporters to explode with enthusiasm

The group poses a strong challenge to Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas' corruption-tainted Fatah movement in the Jan. 25 election for parliament.

Hamas ready to counter the corruption of Fatah with the purity of Hamas.

While Hamas said it has not dropped the option of what it calls "armed struggle" against Israel, a statement by the group suggested the issue would not play a prominent role in the campaign.
Sorta like the Democrats not making tax increases a prominent feature in their campaigns. It's a given.
Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri also said the group has not yet decided whether to join a future Palestinian government, but is ready to cooperate with the international community.

Running for office but not ready to join the government. I sense some commitment issues here.
