While watching an old 80's movie, how often have you thought to yourself, "They made this on purpose?" That's one of my favorite things about that decade -- the sheer gooniness of some of the films. Here's a preliminary Top 10 of Seemingly Accidental 80's Movies:
1. Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo
2. Surf Nazis Must Die
3. Class of Nuke 'Em High
4. Howard the Duck
5. Condorman
6. Any movie where Chuck Norris talks to himself
7. Stallone: Cobra
8. Morons From Outer Space
9. Adventures in Babysitting
10. Real Genius
What movies would make your list?
UPDATE: Now you can see the trailer for the classic Surf Nazis Must Die. Don't mess with Leroy's Mama.

I'd add any movie involving sentient motor vehicles, especially the (so-called) comedies.
But, dude -- Real Genius? That movie was genius!
And so dang quotable.
"3. Class of Nuke 'Em High"
I haven't seen this movie. But last night I dreamed it was re-released on dvd under a different name, and then I realized I saw it years ago.
Blog-post inspired dreams about lame 80s movies. Scary.
Posted by: TulipGirl at décembre 3, 2005 09:44 AMYeah, I'm with Jared - Real Genius is an 80s classic and utterly quotable:
"Self-realization. I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, when he said, "I drank what?"

That is pretty freaky. I'm sleeping on the couch for awhile. . . ;)
Matthew and Jared-
I didn't say these were -bad- movies... I actually love most of them. They're just goony in a way that was very much a product of their time. If you were to just hear them described you'd likely think, "Huh?" But some of them turned out great. . .

GREAT nom. I loved that movie. It was awful. . .
Posted by: Discoshaman at décembre 3, 2005 01:25 PMI'd say Red Dawn, but that would be Disco-baiting and I couldn't do that.
