After life in Kiev, the past few months of suburban life have been a bit weird. It's been hard not to approach things with a bit of self-conscious irony.
Today we set out to have the Ultimate Suburban Sunday. So. We went to church and worshiped. Then we came home and went to the park. I taught the boys the rudiments of baseball and then the Duchess and I played tennis. The in-laws came by for a visit. Then I washed and waxed the minivan. To top it all off, I ate a leftover turkey sandwich and took an afternoon nap.
The whole thing was so normal it felt surreal.
