I'm SO glad that Clinton's cholesterol was low. I'm equally thankful that Palm Beach Democrats are too stupid to read a ballot.

You know this new and improved model, really has the facial action down pat. I wonder how many servo-motors it takes to make that expression?

Posted by: Carol at mai 28, 2004 02:52 PMThe sad and scarey thing is going to a left leaning site and reading the comments from that camp about this speech. Dems think this is the best speech that Al has ever given. Why is it the best Dem speeches (in their minds) are the ones with the most vehement anger and hatred in them? It's not just anger over a policy or a position, it's a down right loathing for the person.
The fact that a party who belabors it's standards of justice and freedom for all men can in the same breath belittle and smear the other party and try and deny them of the same freedoms that they supposedly support for the common man makes me ill.
God help us if they win in November.
The scary thing is that I'm not sure how different John Kerry is from this guy. Both of them will say anything to get elected. It would be one thing if they simply espoused principles with which I disagree, but it's even worse when they don't even have the character to be true to those faulty principles which they profess. When power is the chief motivator - I believe it is for both of these men - then they are to be feared as leaders.

VERY much unrelated: It seems that the parents of a bassoonist in the PCA church plant we may be joining in a few weeks are in Kiev. Do you know a Ron and Linda Harris, parents of Adam? (I don't think I have ever met them, and they will not know me, I am pretty sure.)
Posted by: Gideon Strauss at mai 29, 2004 12:12 AMAt least he could pronounce the name of the type of weapon he'd be deploying, had he had his finger on the button. Maybe that's why he actually won the popular vote.
And misspellings in the transcript notwithstanding, I thought it a rather good, comprehensive speech. And I've only been officially a Democrat for less than a week. Read it.

Gideon-
I've heard the name I believe, but I don't think I know them. Are they musicians as well? There's a Reformed mission here called Music Mission Kiev that's tied in with the Kiev Symphony Orchestra. Just an incredible bunch of people. . . :)

It's always interesting how liberals try to pull the stupid card on Republican presidents. They did it with Reagan and Eisenhower as well. And, just like Bush, both of those two were so stupid that they repeatedly handed your side their heads in most confrontations. It's probably purely coincidence that they last time before 1994 that we took both the House and Senate was under Eisenhower, and that Bush managed to do the same during an OFF YEAR ELECTION. Which was unprecedented in history.
Hopefully your side will continue to 'misunderestimate' him. That's seemed to work real well for them in the past two elections. . . Gore managed to lose an election which, historically, should have been his in a walk-over.
Also, quick point of history. Dems have always had a registration advantage. I'm not surprised that Gore won the vote. There was a time when almost twice as many Americans self-identified as Dems as Reps. The big news is that there is now parity in voter identification for the first time since Roosevelt. That Bush sure is dumb to have accomplished that. . . ;)
