I just noticed that Pee-Wee Herman was busted on obscenity charges in LA. He's an alumnus of my high school, though he graduated well before I did. My bus drove past the movie theatre every day where he was arrested the last time.
He was something of an urban legend in Sarasota. Students were often having Pee-Wee sightings downtown, and he was like a boogie man for our class. Everyone new the guy who was dating the girl whose second cousin's boyfriend had gotten hit on by Pee-Wee at a concert at the Gator Club.
He's 51 now. The man from Pee-Wee's Playhouse is over-50. Am I allowed to feel old?
