Only Peggy Noonan could take an anecdote about a soldier's britches and make you proud to be an American. I love this woman. Ever since reading "What I Saw at the Revolution" as a pup, I've thought she was great. Her Reagan biography, "When Character Was King," honestly made me choke up in a way I haven't since the first time I watched Ophelia drown in the 8th grade school play. She can say things that would sound corny coming from anyone else, because you know she actually MEANS it. How rare a commodity. Check out her latest column here.
Also, Jed Babbin is reporting in NRO that the first free-press Iraqi newspaper went out today. Only 6,000 copies, but each one a milestone.
